Male Waxing

March 12, 2013

Hi, P. Willow,

I’m getting ready to head to the beach in a few weeks. Only problem is that I’m not totally beach ready. I have some unsightly hair on my back and shoulders that I would like to get rid of. I’ve never waxed before and am a bit nervous about how it works. Can you ease my anxiety?  What should I expect?

Nervous Newbie

Well, Nervous Newbie, there are a few things you can do to prepare for your waxing service. The first thing you can do is relax – we’re experts at what we do and we promise to take great care of you!

Second, most men equate waxing with a scene from The 40 Year Old Virgin, and it’s certainly not that. We move so quickly that it will be over before you know it and your back will be smooth and ready for it’s unveiling on the beach.

If you can, we recommend that you exfoliate. This can be done while you’re in the shower with a long handled brush. This is done to remove any dead skin and lift any hairs that might be trapped under the skin.

The most important thing to remember is to get waxed at least 48 hours prior to sun exposure. We do NOT want to expose freshly waxed skin to the sun – it can lead to irritation and we don’t want that for vacation!
